Privacy Policy

The short version

• You can play every game without an account. Your progress is saved in your browser.
• We collect basic usage and performance events to keep the site working and to improve the games. We don't sell them.
• We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads, including personalized ads where you've allowed it.
• You can reset your progress, turn off reminders, and opt out of personalized ads at any time.

Information stored on your device

When you play, SweepZone saves your progress in your browser's local storage: your display name (if you set one), level, XP, coins, streak, daily challenges, achievements, best scores, game settings, and reminder preferences. A random ID is created for your device profile. We don't ask for your name or email, so this information isn't tied to either. Clearing your browser's site data, or using Reset progress on your profile page, deletes it.

If you turn on reminders, your browser shows them from your own device while a SweepZone tab is open. We don't send push notifications from our servers.

Information we collect

Usage and performance events. As you use the site, your browser sends short event records to our server, such as "game started", "game finished", or "page loaded". Each record includes the event name, details such as the game and score, a timestamp, and your random device-profile ID. We also collect page performance measurements (for example, how long a page took to load) along with a general device class, screen width, and connection type. We use these events to find bugs, measure performance, and decide which games and guides to improve.

Server logs. Like most websites, our servers record basic request information: IP address, browser and operating system (user agent), the page requested, the referring page, and the time. We use logs for security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.

Messages you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.

We don't ask for your name, postal address, phone number, date of birth, or payment information, and SweepZone doesn't sell anything.

Cookies and similar technologies

SweepZone saves your progress with local storage rather than cookies, and we don't set our own advertising or tracking cookies. Our advertising partner, Google, may set and read cookies or use similar technologies (such as web beacons, device identifiers, and IP addresses) when ads are shown, as described in the next section.

Advertising

SweepZone is free, and advertising helps pay for it. We use Google AdSense to show ads.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to SweepZone and/or other sites on the internet.
• You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, a Google-certified consent message asks for your consent before ads use cookies or personal data for personalization. Your choice applies until you change it, and the message provides a way to change it at any time.

We never pay or reward anyone for viewing or clicking ads.

Other services we use

• Google Fonts. Our pages load fonts from Google's servers (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com), which receive your IP address and browser information when the fonts download. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• DiceBear. Profile avatars are drawn by DiceBear (api.dicebear.com) from a random seed. The request contains that seed, never your name or email, plus the IP address and browser information that every web request includes.
• Hosting. Hosting providers run our servers on our behalf and process request data only to operate the site.

How we use information

• To run the site and save your progress.
• To fix bugs, prevent abuse, and keep the site secure.
• To measure performance and see which games and guides people use, so we can improve them.
• To show ads through Google AdSense.
• To respond to your messages.
• To comply with legal obligations.

For visitors in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we rely on our legitimate interests to run, secure, and improve the site, and on your consent for personalized advertising and advertising cookies.

Sharing

We don't sell your personal information. We share information only:

• with service providers that help us run the site, such as hosting, under terms that limit their use of it;
• with Google and its partners through ads, as described above;
• when the law requires it, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SweepZone, our visitors, or others;
• as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply to the information transferred.

How long we keep information

Progress saved on your device stays there until you delete it. We keep usage events and server logs only as long as we need them for the purposes above, then delete or aggregate them. We keep email conversations as long as needed to help you and to maintain our records.

Your choices and rights

• Reset your progress from your profile page, or clear site data in your browser settings.
• Turn reminders off in reminder settings, or block notifications for this site in your browser.
• Opt out of personalized ads using the links in the Advertising section.
• Email us to ask what information we hold about you, or to ask us to correct or delete it. Because the games don't collect names or email addresses, we may need details from you, such as the approximate time and device you used, to find records.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights:

• US state residents (for example, in California, Colorado, Connecticut, or Virginia) may have the right to know, access, correct, and delete personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising or the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We don't sell personal information for money, but personalized ads shown through Google may count as "sharing" or targeted advertising under some state laws. You can opt out through Google's Ads Settings or by emailing us.
• Residents of the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of their personal data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

We won't treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

Children

SweepZone is a general-audience website. It isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect the information we handle, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No website can guarantee perfect security.

International visitors

SweepZone is operated from the United States. If you visit from another country, your information is processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we'll also post a notice on the site.
