How to play Trivia Royale
By SweepZone Team · Updated · 4 min read
Trivia Royale is a quick multiple-choice quiz. Pick a category, then answer five questions, each with four possible answers and a 15-second clock. Right answers earn coins and XP, and faster answers and streaks earn more. A round is over in about a minute, which makes it an easy game to fit into a short break.
How to play
- Choose one of the five categories: Sports, Movies, Music, History, or Pop Culture.
- Read the question and tap or click the answer you think is right.
- Level 1 has no timer. From Level 2 on you have 20 seconds per question, then 15 on Level 3. If the timer runs out, the question counts as wrong. After each answer, press Next when you're ready.
- After five questions, you see your result, and your coins and XP are added to your profile.
Each category card shows your best result so far, out of five.
Scoring
Every correct answer earns coins and XP. Wrong answers and timeouts earn nothing and reset your streak.
The coins for a correct answer are the sum of four parts:
- A base of 50 coins.
- 25 coins per difficulty level. Questions are rated level 1 (standard) or level 2 (harder), so they add 25 or 50 coins.
- 2 coins for every second left on the clock when you answer.
- A streak bonus of 10 coins for each correct answer in a row before this one, up to 50.
XP for a correct answer is 20 plus 10 per difficulty level, so you get 30 XP for a standard question and 40 XP for a harder one.
For example, a harder question answered with 12 seconds left, after three correct answers in a row, is worth 50 + 50 + 24 + 30 = 154 coins and 40 XP. The same question answered with one second left and no streak is worth 102 coins.
Categories and questions
There are ten questions in each category, fifty in all. Questions never repeat within a round, but because there are ten per category, you'll see familiar ones if you play the same category often. Mixing categories keeps it fresh.
The categories cover roughly these topics:
- Sports: rules and numbers (players on a team, points for a score), famous events, and records.
- Movies: directors, actors, famous characters, and release years.
- Music: artists and bands, well-known albums and songs, and a little about instruments.
- History: important dates, leaders, landmarks, and famous firsts.
- Pop Culture: technology, TV shows, video games, and the internet.
Year questions are the hardest for most players, because the wrong answers are usually a year or two on either side of the right one.
Tips
- Read the question before the answers. It's tempting to scan the four options first, but knowing exactly what's being asked stops you from grabbing a familiar-looking wrong answer.
- Eliminate first. If you're not sure, look for answers you can rule out. Getting down to two options makes a guess much safer.
- Answer in the first few seconds when you know it. Each second is worth 2 coins, so a quick answer to an easy question is free coins.
- Don't let the clock panic you. Fifteen seconds is longer than it feels. A calm answer at 8 seconds beats a rushed wrong one at 13.
- Guess rather than time out. A timeout always scores nothing. If you have no idea, pick your best remaining option before the clock hits zero.
- Protect your streak. The streak bonus grows with every correct answer in a row, so the later questions in a good round are worth the most.

Common mistakes
- Clicking the first answer that looks familiar. Your first click is final, so take a second to check it against the exact wording of the question.
- Letting the timer run out on a question you could have guessed.
- Only ever playing one category. Your best score in each category is tracked separately, so there's always a new record to set.
FAQ
How long is a round?
Five questions. Level 1 has no timer, and on the timed levels each question allows up to 20 or 15 seconds. You move on when you press Next, so you can take a moment to read the answer.
Is there a daily limit?
No. Play as many rounds as you like.
Do questions repeat?
Not within a round. Across rounds of the same category, they can, since each category has ten questions.
What counts toward achievements?
Every question in a finished round counts toward the "Trivia Buff" achievement, which needs 25 questions, so five full rounds. Finishing a round also counts as a game played for your achievements and daily challenges.
