How to play Stack Tower Rush

By SweepZone Team · Updated · 5 min read

Stack Tower Rush is a one-button timing game. A block slides back and forth above your tower, and you drop it so it lands on the block below. A dead-center landing keeps the block's full width. If you land it off-center, the part hanging over the edge is sliced away, so the next block is narrower and harder to place. Miss the tower completely and the run is over.

It takes a few seconds to learn and much longer to get good at, so it's a good "one more try" game.

Controls

  • Phone or tablet: tap the stage.
  • Mouse: click the stage.
  • Keyboard: press Space. If the stage has focus, Enter works too.

The block starts moving as soon as the tower opens. Each tap drops the current block and sends in the next one. On the first Daily floor a missed drop just gives you another block.

Endless TowerUntil you missStarts slightly faster and keeps climbingChasing a long run and a high score
Practice TowerUntil you missSlower, with wider blocksLearning the timing

In the Daily Tower, each floor asks for more blocks than the last, from 5 on floor 1 up to 15 on floor 10. The Daily Tower is also today's Daily Challenge: clear the day's target (two floors early in the week, up to four on Sunday) and it's marked done for today. You can keep climbing for a higher score, and you can replay the Daily as often as you like. Any finished run, of any game, counts toward your daily streak.

In Endless, each "floor" is 10 blocks, and in Practice each is 6. Both keep going until a block misses the tower.

How a drop is judged

  • Perfect: the block lands within a few pixels of the center of the block below. It snaps into place with its full width intact and adds to your combo. The window starts at 6 pixels in the Daily Tower and tightens a little on every floor, down to 2.5 pixels. Practice is much more forgiving and starts at 9 pixels.
  • Good: the block overlaps but isn't centered. Only the overlapping part stays, and your combo resets.
  • Miss: no overlap at all. The run ends.

Blocks also start narrower on higher floors, and they move faster. In the Daily Tower, the moving block speeds up noticeably every floor, so the first few floors are the best time to build up points.

Scoring

Every drop earns points, and your combo multiplies them.

EventPoints
Any successful drop100
Perfect drop+300
Clearing a floor1,000
Every 10 blocks stacked500
Finishing the Daily Tower5,000
Reaching a combo of 3, 5, or 10500, 1,500, or 5,000
Reaching a height of 25, 50, or 100 blocks1,000, 5,000, or 20,000

Your combo is the number of perfect drops in a row. It sets a multiplier on your points: 1.25x at 2 perfects, 1.5x at 3, 2x at 5, 3x at 8, and 5x at 12. Any non-perfect drop resets the combo, and so does starting a new floor.

The Tower Vault

The meter beside the tower is the Tower Vault. Everything you do fills it a little: each block adds 0.6%, each perfect another 1.2%, each cleared floor 6%, and finishing the Daily adds 12%. Combo and height bonuses add a bit more.

The vault has five tiers, and the tier you finish on sets your reward:

TierVault neededXPCoins
Bronze20%5025
Silver40%10050
Gold60%200100
Diamond80%400200
Mega100%750400

If you end a run before reaching Bronze, you still get a smaller reward based on how many floors you cleared. XP and coins go to your SweepZone profile when the run ends.

Perfect Assist

Daily and Practice runs start with one Perfect Assist in the booster bar. Tap it before a drop, and your next drop snaps to a perfect as long as it lands close to center (within three times the normal perfect window). Save it for a moment when your combo is high and a slightly late tap would cost you.

Tips

  • Watch the tower instead of the moving block. Pick the edge of the top block and tap when the moving block's edge lines up with it. Your eyes react faster to two edges meeting than to judging a center.
  • Find the rhythm. The block moves at a steady speed and bounces at the walls. Tapping on the same beat each time is more reliable than reacting.
  • Protect your width early. On the first floors the perfect window is widest and blocks are slowest. Every perfect there keeps your blocks wide for the hard floors later.
  • Don't panic after a bad drop. A narrow block makes things harder, but you're not done yet. Slow down and wait a full bounce if you need to, then drop only when you're lined up.
  • Use Practice to learn the timing. Blocks there are slower and wider, so you can work on your rhythm before taking it into the Daily.

Common mistakes

  • Tapping as soon as the block appears, before it has crossed the tower once.
  • Chasing a perfect with a rushed tap. A "good" drop that keeps most of the width is better than a miss.
  • Forgetting that your combo resets at every new floor. Don't take extra risks just to protect a combo on the last block of a floor.

FAQ

Does the Daily Tower reset if I fail?

No. You can retry it as many times as you want. Today's Daily Challenge is done once you clear the day's floor target; replays after that are practice.

Why did my block get thinner?

Only the part that overlapped the block below was kept. Perfect drops are the only way to keep the full width.

Is there a reduced-motion option?

Yes. Check "Reduced motion" on the Stack Tower Rush start screen.

What happens to my best score?

Your best score for each tower is saved in this browser and shown on the start screen. Beating it also counts toward the "Beat a personal best" daily challenge.
