How to play Puzzle Rush Blitz

By SweepZone Team · Updated · 5 min read

Puzzle Rush Blitz throws quick puzzles at you in short rounds. Round 1 is eight puzzles with no timer; later rounds last 60, 50, and then 45 seconds. Each puzzle has four answers and one of them is right. Answer fast to earn speed bonuses, and string correct answers together to build a combo multiplier. Try not to guess wrong, though. In the main modes, a wrong answer costs a heart.

It's a good warm-up for your brain. Rounds are short and the puzzle types change constantly, and after a few runs you can feel yourself getting quicker.

Controls

  • Phone, tablet, or mouse: tap or click one of the four answers.
  • Keyboard: press 1, 2, 3, or 4 to pick the matching answer.

The six puzzle types

Every question is one of these, picked at random:

TypeWhat you doExample
Quick MathSolve a short sum7 + 3 = ?
Odd One OutPick the item that doesn't belongWhich one doesn't belong?
SequenceChoose what comes next2, 4, 6, 8, ?
Pattern MatchFind the exact copy of a symbol patternPick the pattern that matches: ▲●
Visual MemoryMemorize a few symbols shown briefly, then pick themRemember the symbols, then pick the match
Word SnapPick the word that fits a categoryWhich is a fruit?

Puzzles get harder as a run goes on. Round 1 is three easy puzzle types with no timer and no hearts at risk. Each later round adds puzzle types, harder questions, or less time, and round 5 is the hardest. In Quick Math, easy questions use addition and subtraction with numbers up to 10. Medium adds multiplication and bigger numbers, and hard goes up to 50. Visual Memory shows two symbols for 1.5 seconds on easy, three for 1.2 seconds on medium, and four for 0.9 seconds on hard. The answer buttons stay locked while the symbols are on screen.

Modes

ModeRoundsHeartsNotes
Daily Blitz53Today's Daily Challenge: the same puzzles for everyone today
Endless BlitzUntil your hearts run out3Every 10th correct answer in a round gives back a heart
Practice1 round of 10 puzzles, no timerNoneWrong answers cost nothing, so it's a safe way to learn the types

In Daily and Endless, a wrong answer costs one heart, and the run ends when you have none left.

Scoring

Each correct answer is worth 100 points, plus a speed bonus:

  • answered in under 2 seconds: +75
  • answered in under 4 seconds: +35

Your combo, the number of correct answers in a row, multiplies that total: 1.25x at 3 in a row, 1.5x at 5, 2x at 10, and 3x at 15. A wrong answer scores nothing and resets the combo to zero.

When a round ends, you can earn round bonuses:

BonusPoints
90% accuracy or better1,000 (500 for 80% or better)
Perfect round, no wrong answers2,500
Your best round so far1,000

Your run total is then multiplied by how many rounds you completed: 1.25x for 2 rounds, 1.5x for 3, 2x for 4, and 3x for all 5 Daily rounds.

The vault and your grade

Every correct answer fills the vault by 2%, with extra for speed (+1.5% under 2 seconds, +0.75% under 4) and for a hot combo (+1.5% at 10 or more, +0.75% at 5 or more).

TierVault neededXPCoins
Bronze20%5025
Silver45%12060
Gold70%250140
Diamond88%500280
Mega100%1,000600

Your vault tier sets your reward. Daily runs pay 1.5 times the tier amount, Endless pays the tier amount, and Practice pays half. A new personal best adds 250 XP. You also get a letter grade: S for reaching the Mega vault with 90% accuracy or better, A for Diamond or Mega, B for Gold, C for Silver, and D otherwise.

Tips

  • Read the whole question once. Two extra seconds of reading beats a fast wrong answer, which costs you the combo and possibly a heart.
  • Aim for the 4-second bonus first. Getting under 4 seconds consistently is realistic. Under 2 seconds comes with practice, mostly on math and sequences.
  • Know the four sequence kinds. A sequence either counts up by the same step (3, 7, 11, 15), runs through consecutive letters (C, D, E, F), doubles (3, 6, 12, 24), or, on hard questions only, adds the previous two numbers together (2, 4, 6, 10). Check the gap between the last two items first and you'll usually spot which one it is.
  • For Visual Memory, say the symbols in your head. Naming "triangle, circle, star" is easier to hold for a second than a picture.
  • In Pattern Match, check the first and last symbol. Wrong answers usually differ at one end.
  • Protect your hearts in round 4 and later. Hard questions arrive when your combo is highest, so slow down slightly rather than guessing.

Common mistakes

  • Treating speed as everything. A wrong answer undoes more than a speed bonus earns.
  • Guessing on Odd One Out without looking at all four options.
  • Forgetting that Practice doesn't count toward the Daily. It's for learning, and pays half rewards.

FAQ

What happens when I run out of hearts?

The run ends immediately and you get your reward, including the points from the round you were in.

Do hearts come back?

Only in Endless: every 10th correct answer in a round restores one heart, up to the maximum of three.

Can I play the Daily Blitz more than once?

Yes, as often as you like. The first time you clear the day's target (one round on Monday, up to three at the weekend), today's Daily Challenge is marked done; later plays are practice. Endless and Practice have no limit either.
